Sunflowers

In Three States, Evgeny Tcherneshoff reinterprets the sunflower as a symbol of transformation and resilience. Presented as a triptych, the work captures three distinct stages — rising, bending, and enduring. Set against bold fields of blue and red, the simplified forms shift between presence and abstraction, giving the flowers an almost human quality. Stripped of detail, they become symbols rather than botanical studies. The work reflects on continuity — how strength, fragility, and change coexist within a single form.
